In search of housing: Appartment 1093

In September, we went to India together on the Go and See trip and looked at different gated communities to live in.

We decided to move into Windmills of Your Mind right next to my office. This saves me the commute - which can take well over an hour in Indian traffic - and we really liked the complex itself.

In December, I, Stephanie, was able to come to Bangalore again and specifically look at apartments in the 'Windmills of your mind' , our chosen community. My colleague accompanied me to the apartment viewing, Martin was there via WhatsApp video call and was thus able to see the apartment. Together we then made the decision for apartment 1093.

Even though not everything is ready to move in yet, it was possible to go into the apartment already and the first impression for Martina nd myself is very good. Since he will be in the apartment more often than me, it is very very important that he likes it.

Our apartment is on the 9th floor and the first thing I - Martin - notice when entering is the shiny, light stone floor: In combination with the large windows, this makes the apartment overall nice and bright and somehow also elegant.

Another highlight and very important for me when choosing the apartment is the balcony, which we want to plant lush green. The sod has already been laid and we were also able to speak directly with the balcony designer. With that, nothing is planted yet, but it's only a matter of time. The balcony should become our oasis of peace and freshness. After the hustle and bustle, dust and noise on the streets, we want to relax here and enjoy the warm weather of India.

Not all required work is done yet. But I am very optimistic that the apartment will be "spruced up" even more by the time we move in - the apartment manager talks about "deep cleaning". The new, beautiful curtains in all the rooms and the fresh paint on the walls are definitely a good sign. The bathrooms certainly need some work, but they'll get there :-).

I have a good feeling about this apartment; we will be able to feel comfortable here for the next 1.5 years.
